The section is of particular importance for Dodik when highlighting ‘national pride and unity’, as it should connect Banja Luka with Belgrade. However, not a single metre of the new highway has been built since then, nor has the Chinese bank granted the construction loan through a deal concluded out of the public eye.
Recently, excavators appeared at the construction site, but the company Autoputevi RS is refusing to explain whether this is actually the start of the construction or yet another pre-election campaign move.
