They have helped prosecute those responsible for the genocide; they also search for the missing and preserve the memory of more than 7,000 murdered boys and men. The staff of the Srebrenica Memorial Centre often have to set aside their own emotions to ensure that one of the greatest crimes of the 20th century in Europe is never forgotten. On the 30th anniversary of the genocide, they look back on the Memorial Centre’s beginnings and reflect on the future of their work.
