Bosniak Fighters Indicted for Deadly Village Attack on Serbs

The Bosnian state court on Friday confirmed an indictment accusing the 11 men of war crimes against civilians and prisoners of war, incitement to commit genocide, crimes against humanity and other crimes in the village of Cemerno in the Ilijas municipality.
During the attack on Cemerno on June 10, 1992, around 30 Serbs were killed; the youngest victim was 16 and the oldest over 80. Ten women were among those killed.
The indicted men are Dzemal Hadzic, Teufik Turudic, Dzemal Smolo, Senad, Haris and Benjamin Sikira, Enes Durak, Mirsad, Nusret and Mirzet Beslija and Hamdija Spahic.
The prosecution claims that they deliberately and willingly participated in a joint criminal enterprise in late May 1992 and the first half of June, along with other people known to them.
According to the charges, the goal of the joint criminal enterprise was to kill all the Serbs in Cemerno without differentiating between civilians and Bosnian Serb Army soldiers, as well as destroying their property.
The indictment alleges that they were members of the Territorial Defence force or active or reservist policemen when they committed the crimes.
