During a status conference, prosecutor Marijana Cobovic said she would need 85 hours to finish her evidence hearing. She didn’t list an exact number of witnesses.

The defense said they would present their evidence plan after the prosecution finished examining all of its witnesses.

The state prosecution has charged former policemen Ibro Merkez, Predrag Bogunic and Esef Huric with their alleged involvement in the illegal detention and inhumane treatment of over 100 Serb civilians detained in Gorazde during the war. Some of the civilians died.

They allegedly committed crimes against Serb civilians with ages spanning seven to 70 years old during their detention. The indictment alleges the civilians were held in inhumane and unhygienic conditions, which caused them physical pain and suffering.

According to the charges, Merkez was the police chief in Gorazde from May to August 1993. Bogunic held the same position from August 1992 to February 1993, while Huric was the commander of one of the police stations in Gorazde.
