The state prosecution has charged Lipovac, a former member of the 103rd Brigade of the Croatian Defense Council, with war crimes against Serbs in the Derventa area in 1992.

In 2008, he was accused of having killed two persons. He was arrested in the Netherlands on May 8, 2014, where, according to the prosecution, he had been living for several years.

The prosecution previously announced that Lipovac was also charged with the assault, torture, and theft of prisoners held in a detention camp in a school building in Poljari in the municipality of Derventa.

The state prosecution alleges that Lipovac was the commander of that detention camp.
