On October 19, 2015, the state prosecution submitted its plea bargain agreement with Soldo to the state court.

The agreement was not presented at today’s hearing. The prosecution included its evidence in the case file. Soldo said he was aware he had waived his right to a trial and that he understood what he had signed. He also said no one had influenced him.

On September 10, 2015, Soldo was charged with having unlawfully detained a Bosniak woman in a bungalow at Boracko Lake, which was located within a Bosnian Serb Army camp. He allegedly raped and forced the woman to perform hard labour from June-July 1992.

According to the indictment, the injured party had to clean bungalows at the camp and wash military uniforms and footwear. She was allegedly subjected to mistreatment and humiliation, as well as rape by other soldiers.

The injured party followed the hearing from a room next door because she didn’t want to face the defendant. Her representative, Nezla Sehic, said she expected the defendant to apologize for her suffering.

The chamber will announce its decision concerning the plea bargain at a hearing scheduled for November 3. If the chamber accepts the agreement, the parties will present their closing statements at the next hearing.

The state court has received and concluded 28 plea bargain agreements for war crimes.
