The custody measures were ordered as per a motion by the state prosecution. At a hearing held on October 21, the state prosecution stated that the defendant had violated the prohibitive measures ordered against him and had contacted witnesses several times.

The prosecution presented a list of calls made from Andabak’s cellphone and landline, which showed that he called some witnesses as many as 58 times.

The defense objected to the motion for custody measures. The defense claimed that state prosecution witnesses from other trial proceedings against Andabak (for war crimes in Livno) testified as defense witnesses in this case.

Andabak, Muamir Jasarevic and Sead Velagic have been charged with the detention, torture and murder of Serb civilians in the Ivan Goran Kovacic school building in 1992. The indictment against them contains 29 counts.

According to the charges, Andabak was a military police commander for the North-Western Herzegovina Operational Zone of the Croatian Defense Council.
