Cajdin, a former member of the Bosnian Army, has been charged with killing a captured member of the Croatian Defense Council in the village of Buscak in the Konjic area on April 14, 1993.

At today’s hearing, defense attorney Bajro Cilic asked the court to postpone the trial, because his client’s health had severely deteriorated.

“I would like to ask the court to order an examination by a team of experts, because Mr. Cajdin is severely sick. His glucose levels are high. Two amputations are ahead of him,” Cilic said. He said he had submitted medical documentation to the court before.

The defendant said he was in hospital from January to April.

“I think I won’t be able to follow the hearing today. My blood glucose level is 33. The levels often vary. I have an arm gangrene. I can’t stand on my feet. Sometimes my vision is good, sometimes it isn’t. My blood pressure gets very low, as low as 60/30 sometimes,” Cajdin said.

Trial chamber chair Slavko Pavlovic said he had not received the defendant’s medical documentation. He ordered an examination of Cajdin’s health by a team of experts.
