The state prosecution has charged Glogovac, a former military police officer with the Doboj operational group of the Ninth Battalion with the First Krajiski Corps of the Bosnian Serb Army, with causing severe physical and mental suffering to civilians and prisoners of war who were detained in the basement of the Franjo Herljevic hunting lodge in the village of Kamenica in the municipality of Zavidovici municipality from June-August 1992.

Glogovac allegedly acted in collaboration with other members of the Bosnian Serb Army.

According to the indictment, Glogovac beat detainees Ahmedin Memcic, Zuhdija Memcic, Besir Softic and others. He kicked them and punched them to the point of loss of consciousness. The beatings allegedly occurred several times a day.

The indictment was confirmed on October 14 2014. At today’s hearing the prosecution announced it would prove all elements of the crime, the existence of an armed conflict, the defendant’s status and his actions as described in the indictment.

Glogovac was arrested in August 2014, when prohibitive measures were ordered against him. Novak Mitrovic was originally charged with Glogovac, but has since died.

The first state prosecution witness will be examined on September 24.
