Following the confirmation of an indictment, the first and last name of the indictee, as well as the date and year of birth and factual and legal grounds of the crime will be published on an official Internet page.
In addition to the data contained in war crimes indictments, personal data contained in confirmed indictments for terrorism, crimes against life and body, corruption, as well as other grave crimes, which are of interest to the public, will no longer be anonymised.
The anonymisation measures have been abolished as a result of acceptance of the Guidelines for publishing prosecution and court decisions on official Internet pages, which were adopted by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council.
Data about suspects, injured parties, witnesses and other persons will be anonymised in accordance with the Law on Criminal Proceedings.
Two years ago the Balkans Investigative Reporting Network initiated a campaign entitled “Stop Censoring War Crimes”, requesting the abolition of anonymisation in court and prosecution official documents.
