“I am doing this of my own free will,” Vukadinovic told the cantonal court in Novi Travnik on Monday as he admitted his guilt.

Vukadinovic is charged with abusing the woman in the village of Luka near Busovaca. He was a member of Bosnian Croat forces in Vitez at the time the crime was committed.

“’Leave now, Balinkura [prerogative term for Bosniak],’ Vukadinovic told the witness, who was later expelled from her home,” the indictment says.

He is also charged with beating the woman up, stealing around 17,000 Deutschmarks from her and threatening to kill her son, who was illegally detained in the Kaonik prison near Busovaca.

The judges said they would order a new hearing to discuss Vukadinovic’s guilty plea.
