Milorad Kalamanda, who testified for the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, said that Communications Officer Zdravko Pejic informed him that rapes had happened and mentioned three names in relation to that: Cicmanovic, Markovic, Bozic.

The witness said that he then spoke to Predrag Cicmanovic, who told him and Pejic: “You are accusing me. What about Markovic, Bozic?”

Kalamanda confirmed having precisely said, in a statement given to the Prosecution of BiH in April, that Cicmanovic told him on that occasion: “You are only accusing me, but Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic and Mirko Bozic also participated in it”.

The witness also confirmed having said, in a statement given to the Public Safety Center in Banja Luka in December 2011, that he heard that some soldiers commented that the crime was committed by Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, as well as Marko Bozic.

When asked by the Prosecution whether any of the raped persons was a minor, the witness said: “I think yes”. Later on, responding to a Defence’s question he explained that he found out that the person was a minor four or five days later after his conversation with Cicmanovic.

Responding to Defence’s question on why he only spoke to Cicmanovic about the rapes, the witness said that he was the only person whom he personally knew.

Prior to that the witness said that he knew the Markovics and Bozic by sight only.

The Prosecution of BiH charges Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, former members of the Kotor-Varos Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, with having raped a minor in Kotor-Varos municipality.

The trial is due to continue on September 16.
