The cantonal court in Bihac on Tuesday said that the prosecution in Bihac had proved beyond reasonable doubt that Biblija, together with another person, participated in detention and killing of civilians Ismet and Becir Besirevic in the village of Bjeline-Donji Lipik on July 10, 1992.

“When deciding on the length of the sentence, the fact that defendant Bilbija had no prior convictions, and that it has been 20 years since those events, were taken into account by the chamber as mitigating circumstance. The type of criminal act and the way it was committed were taken into account as aggravating factors,” said presiding judge Jasminka Karabegovic.

The verdict can be appealed at the supreme court of the Bosnian Federation entity.
