Following the conclusion of the guilt admission agreements, the Trial Chamber separated the proceeding against Bajic and Babic from the proceedings against Nenad Bajic and Mladenko Vrtunic. The Chamber will consider the agreement, which was filed with the Bihac Cantonal Court on May 9, in the coming days.

The Defence of Nenad Bajic said that it had entered negotiations with the Cantonal Prosecution concerning a guilt admission agreement. The Prosecution previously reached an agreement with Slobodan Dragic, who was sentenced to five years in prison.

Mladenko Vrtunic addressed the Trial Chamber, saying that he was not an accomplice in the murder of the two women in November 1992.

Vrtunic is charged with having participated, along with Predrag Bajic and another person, in physical mistreatment of Ale Strkunic and murder of his wife Fatma and her mother in Mali Rejzovici village, Kljuc municipality, in November 1992.

“I have never been in Ale Strkunic’s house. I did not participate in any dishonest actions,” Vrtunic said.

The trial is due to continue on May 25.
