Examination of Witness in Prijedor

Milorad Jelisavac said that he worked with the Section for Solving of War Crimes Cases of the Public Safety Station in Banja Luka in 1993.
“In 1993 we received an order to go to Prijedor and conduct a conversation with one person in the military barracks. We went there and spoke to him. After that we had lunch and a cup of coffee. That person, whose name or appearance I cannot remember now, did not have any visible injuries on his body,” Jelisavac said.
He said that they interviewed the person in a professional manner and that nobody used force, adding that everything was done in accordance with the law.
“We wrote down all he said in a planner. When we returned to the office later on, we retyped it and handed it over to competent persons,” Jelisavac said.
Alukic and Hirkic are charged with crimes against Serb civilians in the Prijedor area in 1992. They are charged with having killed two civilians and tried to kill two more.
The District Prosecution completed the presentation of its evidence by examining witness Jelisavac. The Defence announced that it would examine 14 witnesses, including a protected one, at the upcoming hearings.
The trial is due to continue on March 6.
