Tribunal not Responding to State Courts Letter for Months

As per a request by the Defence, at the beginning of October the Chamber submitted a letter to the Tribunal in order to be able to contact about ten witnesses, who previously testified under protection measures before The Hague Tribunal.
No response has been received from The Hague although more than three months have passed since.
We sent the last letter, urging The Hague to respond, on December 15. We shall send another one today, Trial Chamber Chairman Darko Samardzic said, adding that, most probably, a response had not been sent due to the holiday season.
The main trial continued with presentation of one piece of material evidence, namely an official document by the Hydro Electrical Plant on River Drina in Visegrad issued in 2013, by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The trial of Oliver Krsmanovic, who is charged with crimes in Visegrad, began in January 2012. He was recently released from custody under prohibiting measures.
Indictee Oliver Krsmanovic requested the Trial Chamber to undergo thyroid gland surgery in Foca. The Chamber will render a decision concerning his request at a later stage.
The indictment charges Krsmanovic, former member of the Second Podrinje Light Infantry Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, with having participated in the murders, rape, torture and other inhumane acts against Bosniak civilians.
The trial is due to continue on February 18.
