This was confirmed by Amra Ahmetlic, Prosecutor with the Cantonal Prosecution in Zenica, announcing that she would request the Court to allow her to read a statement given by late witness Makso Subotic during the investigation.

The Zenica Cantonal Prosecution charges Dedic with having participated in the beating of Serb civilians, while collecting illegal weapons in June 1992.

“On that occasion houses were searched and local residents were unlawfully taken to the Police Station, where they were examined,” the indictment alleges.

The indictment alleges that Dedic forced a local resident, at whose house a gun was found, to walk through the town, saying that he was in charge of killing Muslim children. After that local Breza residents hit him and spat at him.

“Two people died due to being beaten during the examination at the Police Station, while three people received severe bodily injuries,” the indictment alleges.

The trial is due to continue on February 12.
