Husein Baltic, former member of the 505th Brigade with the Fifth Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that he found out about the murder of his brother Ekrem Baltic shortly after it had happened, adding that he got the information from Nisvet Cordic, who was captured with him and wounded.

“Nisvet told me that members of the so-called Western Bosnia Autonomous Region captured him and Ekrem, who had already been wounded. He said that, as they were not able to force them to admit who their commander was, they killed my brother Ekrem and wounded him. He told me that Ekrem was killed by a Sulejman Mujagic, known as Brada,” Husein Baltic said.

The Una-Sana Cantonal Prosecution charges Sujelman Mujagic with having killed a captured member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, and wounded another one in the Kumarica region, near Velika Kladusa, in March 1995.

The indictment alleges that, after having captured members of the 505th Knight Brigade of the Fifth Corps of ABiH, Mujagic physically abused them and then killed Ekrem Baltic and wounded Nisvet Cordic by shooting at them from an automatic gun.
Mujagic was arrested in the United States of America in November 2012 and extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina in late May.

He has been held in custody in Bihac since.

The Bihac Cantonal Prosecution examined Ismeta Baltic, wife of killed Ekrem Baltic, who said that she last saw her husband alive on March 1, 1995, when she saw him off to the battlefield. As she said, following one of the exchanges three months later, she received an invitation to come to Bihac in order to identify his body.

Her son Muhamed Baltic, who too testified at this hearing, said that he was three years old in 1995, but, while growing up, she heard stories about the way his father got killed. He said that he heard that his father was captured and killed in the vicinity of Velika Kladusa.

The trial of Mujagic is due to continue on October 2.
