The identified victims were exhumed from Pelemisi-Sekovici and Drvenice-Osmaci mass graves, Lake Perucac and individual localities in the Zvornik, Bratunac and Srebrenica areas.

“Out of the eight identified victims, five are women and three men. The oldest victim is Abid Salkanovic, who was 88 when he was killed. His granddaughter, who was 21 at the time, is the youngest of the victims,” said Lejla Cengic, spokesperson of the Institute for the Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hurija Civic and granddaughter Sadika Causevic are among the identified victims. Their remains, which were completely burnt, were found in a family house in Drvenice village, Osmaci municipality.

They were identified through a classical method of identification, because the bones, as said by Cengic, were burnt so much that it was not possible to identify the victims through a DNA analysis.

Family members have confirmed the identity of the following victims too: Hanifa Islamovic, Zineta Poljo, Zina Sejdinovic, Fadil Hasanovic and Ahmet Manjic.
