“By installing modern technical equipment, decorating the interior and putting furniture in the courtroom, the Cantonal Court in Zenica has met all the conditions for uninterrupted processing of war crimes and other complex cases,” said Hilmo Ahmetovic, Acting President of the Court.
Five war-crimes cases are currently being processed before the Cantonal Court in Zenica. Ahmetovic expects the number to be even bigger.
The courtroom in the Zenica Cantonal Court building has been renovated and equipped according to a project of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, which has secured resources to the amount of four million Euro within the IPA project. This is with the aim of speeding up and contributing to the quality of war crimes trials held before ten cantonal courts in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, FBiH.
Some 141,000 Euro has been allocated for architectural arrangement of the courtroom in the Zenica Cantonal Court building, as well as procurement and installation of contemporary electronic equipment and adaptation of related premises.
