Prosecutor Amela Mustafic requested the Court to order Pop Kostic into custody due to a danger that he might flee, considering the fact that he has already failed to appear at two hearings before the Basic Court in Brcko, although subpoenas were hand delivered to him properly.

She requested the Brcko Court to issue an international warrant, because the indictee has citizenship of the Republic of Serbia.

Pop Kostic, former member of the First Posavina Infantry Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, is charged with having participated in the torture, inhumane treatment and causing of severe suffering of civilians, who were detained in the “Luka” detention camp in Brcko.

Preliminary hearing judge Sanja Ivic announced that the Brcko Basic Court’s decision would be announced later on.
