Defence attorney Svetozar Vasiljevic said that he had not been able to contact the indictee since the confirmation of the indictment.

According to the charges filed in April, Boban Pop Kostic, former member of the First Posavina Infantry Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, tortured detainees in “Luka” detention camp in Brcko and treated them in an inhumane manner.

The indictment charges him with having punched civilian B.M., on May 10, 1992, with his fist, on which he had brass knuckles, while holding a knife in his left hand.

Unofficial data suggests that Pop Kostic has citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but he has lived in Serbia for a long time. He was examined in Serbia via the international legal assistance.

The next hearing is due to be held on July 11.
