The Prosecutor’s Office charges Peric, as a member of the Croat Defence Council, with the inhumane treatment of prisoners of war and one detained civilian person.

The indictment alleges that Peric wanted Sefik Kovacevic (also known as “Sudo”) to be physically abused behind the hangar of the barracks of the former Yugoslav People’s Army, and therefore induced two members of the Croat Defence Council to physically abuse Kovacevic.

Together with other members of the Croat Defence Council Peric is charged with forcing Ekrem Pekaz, Huso Maric and Esad and Mirsad Peco to inflict self-injury by compelling them to jump onto concrete ground from 1 to 1.5 metres high head first in mid-July 1993.

Judge Mladen Jurisic announced that the Trial Chamber would set the date for the start of the trial in the next 30 days.
