Testifying at the trial of four former Bosnian Croat fighters accused of war crimes committed in the municipality of Capljina, prosecution witnesses said they surrendered after hiding in the woods from Croat armed forces. They said they surrendered to protect themselves and were taken to the Gabela detention camp.

Nikola Andrun was convicted of involvement in the murder and torture of prisoners at the Gabela detention camp near Capljina but his jail sentence was cut from 18 to 14 years.
