Although the pronouncement of the verdict against Vlahovic was originally announced for March 15, it has now been postponed. The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina says that the pronouncement has been postponed due to “the comprehensiveness and complexity of the case”.

According to the State Prosecution’s indictment, which is the most comprehensive one so far, containing 54 counts, Vlahovic is charged with having killed and participated in the murder of more than 30 people and raped more than ten women.

The indictment further alleges that Vlahovic raped a certain number of women several times and enabled other soldiers to sexually abuse them.

Besides that, he is charged with having abused, beaten and confiscated money and other valuable possessions from Croat and Bosniak citizens, acting alone or in collaboration with other armed persons, during the course of 1992.

Presenting his closing statement in December last year, Prosecutor Behaija Krnjic said that even the maximum sentence would not be enough considering the terror committed by Vlahovic in Grbavica, Kovacici and Vraca during 1992. The Defence proposed to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to render a rightful verdict that would satisfy the victims and be fair to the indictee.
