Bosko Rakic, former member of the Second Majevica Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, told the Court that members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina captured him at Banj Brdo on Mount Majevica in April 1993.

However, he was not able to identify indictee Trle as the person who killed his former comrade Drago Stevanovic.

“I do not know if this is the man, who shot him. All I know is that the man had black hair and that he was chubby. I neither saw nor knew the person, who shot Drago Stevanovic. While I was in prison, I heard that Drago had been killed by a Trle,” the witness said.

According to the charges, Trle, the then member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, killed a captured member of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS at Banj Brdo on Mount Majevica, Kalesija municipality in April 1993.

“The indictee approached a large group of captured VRS members, who were lined up following the capture, and killed Drago Stevanovic by firing a burst of bullets from an automatic gun at him from a close distance. He did this in presence of the other captives,” the indictment alleges.

Jovica Jovic, who appeared as second Tuzla Cantonal Prosecution witness at this hearing, said that the indictee did not look like the person, who shot the man.

“He was turned away from me most of the time, while all this was happening. He was a middle-aged man, around 35. I was too afraid to notice any details,” Jovic said.

The trial is due to continue on January 11.
