The Defence presented documents concerning military engagement and disabled war veterans status for witnesses and injured parties. The Trial Chamber ordered the Defence to submit stamped copies of those documents at the next hearing, so the Court could include them in the case file.
Hamzic is charged with having physically and mentally abused detained civilians in his capacity as Commander of Guards in Rabic and Polje detention camps in the Derventa area and Tulek detention camp in Brod.
He treated detained civilians in an inhumane manner, causing severe physical and mental suffering of those people and injuries of their bodily integrity and health, contributing to death of some of the detainees. He enabled others to abuse detained civilians and used to take detainees to other locations, where they were forced to dig trenches, the indictment alleges.
The trial is due to continue on January 28 next year.
