At a session held on Thursday, March 15 State Parliament delegates discussed again the Proposal of the Law on Cessation of the Application of the Law on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Proposal of the Law on Cessation of the Application of the Law on the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were submitted by delegates Drago Kalabic of the Union of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD, and Darko Babalj of the Serbian Democratic Party, SDS. The delegates repeated their previously presented stands on the issue.

The negative opinion of the Constitutional Commission about these laws was not adopted due to insufficient support from delegates from Republika Srpska.

The proposed Laws, which foresee that these institutions will stop working within 30 days, have received a negative opinion from the Constitutional Commission of the House of Representatives, which failed to support the principles on which the Law is based.

This is the second time that the Parliament has rejected negative opinions of the Constitutional Commission about these laws, as the delegates already returned those same proposals to the Commission in mid-February this year.

One of the proposers of the laws, Drago Kalabic, said, during this session, that SNSD did not support anarchy, lawlessness and situations in which there was no justice.

”We do not support non-existence of justice. But, it will just be in other towns. We should open a dialogue and see how can we reach a situation where people have confidence in justice. This was our goal,” Kalabic said.

Denis Becirevic of the Social Democratic Party, SDP said that the Club of SDP Delegates would never support these laws, considering the fact that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina had already determined that the State Court and its Prosecution were in conformity with the Constitution.D.Dz.
