Slobodan Nikolic, Secretary of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, said that the Court accepted a motion filed by the Cantonal Prosecution, considering the fact that indictee Djajic was on the rune. The custody for Djajic has now been extended until May 14 this year.
The Cantonal Prosecution in Sarajevo charges Djajic, former crime inspector with the Public Safety Station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP of RS in Ilidza, with having intimidated and unlawfully taken civilians away, abused and treated them in inhumane manner and pillaged their property.
According to the charges, on November 1, 1995 Djajic ordered armed policemen to bring S.K. to the station so he could conduct an informative interview with him. Upon his arrival, he told the man that he had to leave his apartment and RS, because he was a Croat, adding that he could be killed.
When S.K. refused to leave his apartment, Djajic cursed him and hit him in his face with his fist. After having been hit, injured party S. K. fell of the chair. Other policemen then continued hitting him on his body with their legs and fists. Following the beating, Djajic drove the injured party to a check-point, controlled by the RS Army, at Kobiljaca and handed him over to a soldier, who escorted him to a byway and told him not to step out of it, as the area was mined, the indictment alleges.
It further alleges that, on November 2, 1995 Djajic moved into S. K.’s apartment. He lived in it until March 1996. According to the charges, when he left the apartment, Djajic transported all the movable assets, worth about KM 317,582, from the apartment to an unknown destination by truck.
The Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina arrested Djajic in late December last year. He has been held in custody since. The arrest took place as per a warrant issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, MUP of KS.A.S.
