Local Justice – Bihac: Sakib Dautovic Pleads not Guilty

Sakib Dautovic appears before the Cantonal Court in Bihac and pleads not guilty to all the charges contained in the indictment, which charges him with crimes against civilians in the Velika Kladusa area.

The Una-Sana Cantonal Prosecution charges Dautovic, former Commander of a Building Security Squad with the Ministry of Defence and Military Police of the Western Bosnia Autonomous Region, WBAR, with having taken, on June 18, 1994, 12 civilians from the Drmaljevo detention camp to the Dispensary in Velika Kladusa, where they were subjected to severe physical abuse.

The Cantonal Prosecution in Bihac charges Dautovic with having taken 15 detainees from Drmaljevo detention camp in August 1994. One of the civilians, whose name was Rasim Erdic, allegedly died after being subjected to abuse.

At the plea hearing Defence attorney Tatjana Savic said that the Defence would provide the Court with a list of evidence it wanted to present at a later stage.Dautovic was arrested in the Kingdom of Norway in April 2007. After having spent four years in an extradition prison, he was extradited to the Bosnia and Herzegovina judicial authorities in November last year. He has been held in custody in the Penal and Correctional Facility in Bihac since.Dz.Dz.
