Dzeko, under suspicion of taking part in the attack on the village Trusina in the municipality of Konjic in April 1993, was arrested in April this year, and he has been held in custody in the US since. He was extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 20, 2011.

According to the Prosecution, 18 civilians and four soldiers of the Croatian Defence Council, who previously surrendered, were killed in the attack. Several people were wounded, including two children.

In its explanation of the decision on custody, the Court established there is a grounded suspicion that Dzeko committed the crime he is suspected of and remanded him in custody because of fears that he could disrupt the criminal procedure by influencing witnesses and accessories, as well as because he represents a flight risk.

Before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina there is an ongoing trial of six former members of the Zulfikar Special Purposes Detachment for the same crime. The charged are Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Nedzad Hodzic, Senad Hakalovic, Nihad Bojadzic and Zulfikar Alispago.
