The Trial Chamber announced that the State Prosecution informed it that, as of July this year the Defence would be enabled to cross-examine the witnesses who previously testified before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY at The Hague.

“The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been informed that the first witness will be examined via video-link from Australia on July 7. The mentioned hearing will not be held at the normal trial time due to the time difference,” Trial Chamber Chairman Darko Samardzic explained.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Ivanovic, former member of the Skelani Third Squad with the Special Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP RS, with having participated in the capture, taking away and shooting of more than 1,000 men in the Kravica Agricultural Cooperative on July 13, 1995.

Besides that, Ivanovic is charged with having robbed prisoners, who were then taken to the Cooperative in Kravica and killed.

Ivanovic has been held in custody since March 2009. His trial began in August that year.

The trial is due to continue on July 7, 2011.
