The Defense of Gojko Klickovic continued its presentation of material evidence related to crimes committed in Bosanska Krupa, among which were excerpts from a book written by Momir Bulatovic, “Slobodan Milosevic – Unspoken Defense”.

“In this region there was an attack on the sovereignty and integrity of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), and not an aggression of Serbs. The planners and participants of the joint criminal enterprise are on the other side, not here”, said Klickovic, while presenting parts of the book.

Slobodan Milosevic, former Serbian President, was indicted before the Hague Tribunal for crimes committed in BiH, Kosovo and Croatia. He died in 2006 in the detention unit of the Hague Tribunal.

Bulatovic was the first President of Montenegro. In his book, published in 2007, he says he is writing “a testimony in front of the Hague Tribunal which could not be spoken, and so, had to be written”, and that his object is to defend “Milosevic, Yugoslavia and the Serb people from a monstrous indictment.”

Gojko Klickovic, Mladen Drljaca and Jovan Ostojic are charged with participation in a joint criminal enterprise which began in the summer of 1991. The aim of the enterprise was to divide Bosanska Krupa Municipality by establishing the so-called Serb Municipality of Bosanska Krupa, whose population would be “predominantly Serb”.

As part of its material ecdence, Klickovic’s Defense has introduced speeches made in 1991 by Alija Izetbegovic, transcribed in Bulatovic’s book, and a Call to the Muslim people of Bosanska Krupa and Cazin region, aimed at “reducing tensions” in this city.

Izetbegovic was the first President of BiH. He died in 2003 in Sarajevo.

Klickovic, while introducing material evidence, said the Serb people in BiH did not prepare the war in BiH and they were the only ones to remain “legalists who defended and respected the institutions of SFRY”.

He added that Bosniaks had only one goal, and that they chose any means to reach it, which was to form an independent and unitary BiH.

The trial is due to continue on August 25th.
