The Hague Tribunals President has rejected a motion filed by representatives of victims from seven Bosnian municipalities, who asked the Tribunal to appeal against the decision to acquit Radovan Karadzic of genocide charges committed in 1992 following the end of the Prosecutions evidence presentation.

The Cantonal Prosecution in Bihac completes the presentation of evidence at the trial of Ratko Lavrnic, who is charged with crimes against civilians in the Kljuc area in 1993, with examination of its last witnesses and court experts.

At the trial of the former Bosnian Serb army chief, Ratko Mladic, the defence completed their cross examination of the protected witness, RM-010, who survived the execution of the Bosniaks in the village of Biljani near Kljuc in July 1992. Maldic’s lawyer, Miodrag Stojanovic, dedicated the majority of his examination to the events which preceded the crime, including the attack by Bosniak forces on the column of the Yugoslav People’s Army, JNA, and Serb police in the vicinity of Kljuc.

At the trial of the former Bosnian Serb army chief, Ratko Mladic, two survivors described mass murders of Bosniaks committed in the summer of 1992 in the municipalities of Kalinovik and Kljuc.

The first witnesses at the trial of Ratko Mladic, former commander of the Army of Republika Srpska, will testify on July 9, The Hague Tribunal has decided.

Testifying in his defence at the trial for crimes in the Kljuc area, indictee Brane Dmicic says that Alija Lemes was killed in July 1992, while he was transported to prison.

As agreed at a status conference, defence witnesses of Brano Dmicic and Rade Brkic, who are charged with crimes in Kljuc area, are due to be examined before the District Court in Banja Luka on June 20.

The defence team for Ratko Mladic, former commander of the Bosnian Serb army, again asked the Hague Tribunal to postpone the start of the evidence presentation by six months due to continuous problems with disclosure of evidence.

The Presentation of evidence at the trial of Ratko Dronjak, who is charged with crimes in Drvar, has been completed with examination of two last Defence witnesses. The presentation of State Prosecutions closing statement is scheduled for May 10.

The District Court in Banja Luka sentences Brane Dmicic, former member of the Public Safety Station in Ribnik, to three years in prison for crimes against civilians in 1992.
