The Balkans Investigative Reporting Network, BIRN BiH, in collaboration with the Association of Court Reporters, AIS, held a workshop in Brcko with the aim of increasing transparency of judicial institutions and the responsibility of the media when it comes to reporting on court processes and investigations.

The Association of Court Reporters, AIS has agreed to visit four local communities by the end of the year and continue advocating against anonymization of legally-binding court documents referring to war crimes.

Representatives of the Association of Court Reporters, AIS express their concern over the new developments related to obtaining of information from state-level judicial institutions and agree upon the future steps aimed at increasing transparency and providing the general public with complete information about war crimes trials.

At a meeting organized between the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) BiH, the Association of Court Reporters and representatives of judicial institutions which have headquarters in Sarajevo, as well as law enforcement agencies and media it was concluded that there is a need for education, and better cooperation.

Members of the Association of Reporters from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, cantonal and district courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, AIS, met on November 19 in order to summarize the activities conducted and results achieved during 2011 and make a work plan for next year.

Representatives of the Association of Court Reporters, AIS met in Sarajevo on September 20 and discussed the cooperation between judicial institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the media, as well as AIS' plans for the upcoming period.

Representatives of BIRN and the Association of State Court Reporters, AIS held a joint meeting with judicial institutions from the Una-Sana Canton and the media stations, reporting on war crimes trials, on October 13.
