The Bosnian state prosecution has requested that custody measures be extended for five persons suspected of kidnapping and killing passengers travelling by train in Strpci during the Bosnian war. The defense teams have requested that the court order prohibitive measures instead.

The Bosnian state court extended the custody of five former Bosnian Serb fighters suspected of seizing 20 passengers from a train in Strpci in 1993 and then killing them.

The state prosecution asked for seven Bosnian Serb ex-fighters suspected of seizing 20 passengers from a train in 1993 and killing them to be remanded in custody.

Nebojsa Ranisavljevic is the only one who was sentenced for the kidnapping and killing of passengers from a train in Strpci (municipality of Rudo). During the investigation, which was held 18 years ago, he mentioned the names of several people claiming that they have participated in this crime along with him. Three of them were arrested late last week.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, orders one-month custody for ten people who are suspected of having kidnapped passengers from a train in Strpci, and were later killed in the Visegrad area.
