The former commander of the Bosnian Army’s Fourth Corps, Ramiz Drekovic, went on trial for committing a war crime by ordering artillery attacks on a Serb-populated village in the Konjic area in 1995. The trial of Ramiz Drekovic opened at the state court in Sarajevo on Tuesday, with the defendant accused of ordering artillery units of the Bosnian Army’s Fourth Corps to carry out non-selective attacks on Serb civilians in the village of Kalinovik in the Konjic municipality between May 21 and June 7, 1995.

In closing arguments at former police special forces member Milan Bogdanovic’s trial, the defence urged the court to acquit the defendant of the forced displacement, unlawful detention and forced disappearances of Bosniaks from Srebrenica in 1995. Milan Bogdanovic’s defence on Monday urged the Bosnian state court in Sarajevo to acquit the defendant, arguing that none of the 45 prosecution witnesses had proved that he was guilty of the forced displacement, unlawful detention and forced disappearances of Bosniaks from Srebrenica in July 1995.

In closing statements, former Bosnian Serb fighter Sasa Cvetkovic’s defence called for him to be acquitted of murdering two Roma women and raping two Bosniaks in the Srebrenica and Bratunac areas in 1992. Sasa Cvetkovic’s defence on Monday called for the former fighter to be cleared of killing two female Roma civilians in Sase in the Srebrenica municipality in May 1992 and raping two women in Bratunac in June the same year.

Former Bosnian Serb soldier Miroslav Markovic went on trial for the detention, abuse and murder of civilians after a convoy of fleeing Bosniaks was intercepted in the village of Lokanj near Zvornik in 1992. The trial of Miroslav Markovic, who is accused of involvement in the detention and subsequent killing of dozens of Bosniak civilians, began at the Bosnian state court in Sarajevo on Monday.

In closing statements at the trial of former Bosnian Serb fighter Sasa Cvetkovic, the Bosnian prosecution called for the defendant to be convicted of murder and rape in the Srebrenica and Bratunac areas in 1992. The prosecution urged the Bosnian state court in Sarajevo on Wednesday to convict Bosnian Serb ex-fighter Sasa Cvetkovic of killing two Roma civilians in Sase in the Srebrenica municipality in May 1992 and raping two women in Bratunac in June the same year.
