The Bosnian state prosecution filed an indictment on Thursday charging Brane Petkovic, the former commander of the municipal Territorial Defence headquarters in the Serbian Municipality of Gorazde, for failing to undertake necessary and reasonable measures to prevent war crimes against the civilian population in Lozje (also known as Kokino Selo) in May 1992.

The attack the village on May 22, 1992 resulted in deaths, severe injuries and inhumane treatment, the indictment said.

“At least 16 Bosniaks were killed. During the same attack, seven Bosniak men were captured, taken away in an unknown direction and killed,” it alleged.

The remains of the men who were taken away were found in a mass grave in Siseta in the Gorazde municipality in March 1993.

The indictment has been filed to the state court for confirmation.
