The Bosnian state prosecution on Tuesday charged Sasa Cvetkovic, a Serbian citizen, with committing war crimes against the civilian population in the Srebrenica and Bratunac areas in April and May 1992.

The indictment alleges that Cvetkovic took a man from his house in Kolonija, a hamlet in the village of Sase in the Srebrenica municipality, acting in collaboration with two other soldiers.

He allegedly pointed his rifle at the man and threatened to kill his relatives, and ordered him to tell the residents of a neighbouring village to surrender voluntarily.

The indictment claims that because the man did not return within the deadline given to him, Cvetkovic went to his house and killed two civilians.

The charges also allege that Cvetkovic, accompanied by another soldier, took three women away from the Sase zinc and lead mine, where Bosniak civilians were being detained, towards Bratunac, where another soldier joined them.

According to the indictment, they took the women to an abandoned house, where they raped and abused them sexually.

The prosecution alleges that Cvetkovic and another soldier raped one of the women several times.

The indictment has been filed to the state court for confirmation.
