Psychologist Testifying at Sanski Most Trial Says Injured Party Has PTSD

The state prosecution has charged Goran Mrdja, Milorad Mrdja, Ranko Mrdja and Mile Kokot with participating in crimes against Bosniak victims. Their crimes allegedly included acts of murder, rape, assault, theft and other forms of mental and physical abuse committed in the Sanski Most area from 1992 to 1994.
The indictment alleges the defendants were members of the Sixth Sanska Infantry Brigade of the Bosnian Serb Army.
Testifying at today’s hearing, psychologist and court expert Senadin Fadilpasic said an injured party in the case suffered from PTSD. He said that despite her decreased general, living, working and emotional capabilities, she was capable of participating in the court proceedings.
He presented the results of an expert examination conducted by a team of psychiatrists and psychologists. The injured party’s examination included interviews with the injured party and a review of her statements and medical documentation.
When asked by the defense whether another stressful event could have caused her mental condition, Fadilpasic said no data on other potential stressful events were available.
The prosecution said this expert examination referred to the count under which Goran and Milorad Mrdja were charged with raping one person.
The trial will continue on March 10.
