The Bosnian state prosecution announced that Grubacic and Djajic were arrested in the area of Trebinje and Bileca. They are suspected of war crimes against Bosniak and Croat civilians from the vicinity of Bileca, Nevesinje, Trebinje, Gacko and other locations.According to the state prosecution, the victims were unlawfully detained in a detention camp within the military barracks in Bileca.
The prosecution suspects Grubacic, Djajic and Bosnjak of brutally torturing, raping, assaulting, humiliating, and intimidating civilians, along with other forms of physical and mental abuse. They allegedly forced civilians to attend simulated executions and held them in inhumane conditions.
The prosecution alleges that four prisoners died from the poor living conditions and a lack of medical assistance, while a number of victims still suffer from the consequences of their detention.
The suspects will be handed over to the prosecution. The prosecution will examine them and decide whether to request custody or prohibitive measures.
The State investigation and protection agency arrested Bosnjak several hours after the apprehension of Grubacic and Djajic.
