Prosecutor Ibro Bulic introduced a statement given by Saric in 2012, but the statement was not read in court and the defense did not object.

Saric, the former commander of the Special Brigade of the Republika Srpska police, has been charged with commanding police forces which participated in the search, disarmament and forcible resettlement of women, children and the elderly in the vicinity of Bratunac and Srebrenica, as well as with the detention of men and boys who were later executed in July 1995.

The state prosecution also introduced reports about the Special Police Brigade and Saric’s orders from 1995, which the defense didn’t object to. The state prosecution also presented evidence that demonstrated Srebrenica was declared a United Nations safe area.

Bulic also presented reports about cooperation between the Bosnian Serb Army and police forces in Srebrenica. Documents related to mass graves, the identification of victims and DNA analysis was also presented.

The trial resumes on October 26.
