Jelena Despotovic, the court secretary, said the defendants’ appeals had been rejected.
“The appeals have been rejected as unfounded. The first instance verdict pronounced by the District Court in Banja Luka has been confirmed,” Despotovic said.
Nisevic and Beric were found guilty of having participated in the murder of two Bosniak civilians in Trnopolje, near Prijedor, on June 9, 1992.
They were found guilty of abducting Suad Sivac and Sulejman Garibovic from their homes and killing them. They acted in collaboration with others.
The bodies of Suad Sivac and Sulejman Garibovic have never been found.
