The defendants, all former members of the Bosnian Army, have been found guilty of beating civilian Savo Tesic in the village of Jasenica near Srebrenik on July 17, 1995. Tesic was later killed by unknown perpetrators.

Trial chamber chairwoman Zorica Gogala said that while determining the sentence, mitigating circumstances were taken into account – such as the fact that the defendants are family men and haven’t been previously sentenced for other crimes.

This verdict increased the amount of prison time for Salihovic and Ahmic and reduced Oric’s sentence. Previously, Salihovic and Ahmic were each sentenced to one year in prison, and Oric was sentenced to four years in prison.
