The trial of Mato Condric will begin on February 18, as per a decision made at today’s status conference held at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Condric has been charged with rape and the abuse of civilians in Bosanski Brod during the Bosnian war.
Bosnian state prosecutor Milanko Kajganic said that he would examine eight witnesses.
Kajganic said he would need eleven hours to present his evidence.
The defense said that it would specify its plan later on, pointing out that “identities have been mixed up in this case.”
Condric, a former military police officer with the Croatian Defence Council, has been charged with the rape of a woman who was detained at the Polet football stadium in Bosanski Brod in 1992. Condric is also accused of participating in the mental and physical abuse of civilians.
