The indictment, which was confirmed on Wednesday, charges Dragan Marjanovic, Sasa Gavranovic, Vitomir Devic, Zoran Sljuk and Darijo Slavuljica for the killings of Bosniak civilians in June 1992 on the Borjhe Mountain near Teslic.

The Bosnian prosecution has previously said that this is an investigation into the activities of the “Mice” group, and has been transferred to Bosnia from The Hague tribunal.

After the indictment was confirmed, on Thursday the Bosnian prosecution asked for three of the defendants Gavranovic, Devic and Sljuk to be released from custody and ordered not to leave their municipalities, and to extend prohibiting measures to Marjanovic and Slavuljica.

“The Prosecution believes that in this phase there is no need for the defendants to be in custody and we believe these proposed measured are the most convenient for them, and will not limit their movement,” said prosecutor Mirza Hukeljic.

The lawyers of Gavranovic and Sljuk did not object to the prohibiting measures, while Devic’s Defence claimed “there is no need for any measures.”

Marjanovic’s lawyer Milan Romanic said that he objects to the prolonging of prohibiting measures to his client, since he has already shown he is “rigorously honouring the requests of the Court.”

The Bosnian Prosecution originally filed the indictment in the “Mice” case on November 17 against Marjanovic, Gavranovic, Devic, Sljuk, Slavuljica and a sixth suspect Dragomir Kezunovic. At today’s hearing, it was said that the indictment was raised on November 14 and confirmed two days later, on Wednesday.

The five suspects, were originally arrested in a group of 13 suspects in the “Mice” case. The seven other suspects are Andrija Bjelosevic, Milan Savic, Dusan Kuzmanovic, Marinko Djukic, Miroslav Pijunovic, Dobrivoj Culibrk, Predrag Markocevic and Predrag Subotic.

The Bosnian Prosecution said the investigation against these men continues. The crimes of the “Mice” group, along with Teslic, were committed in Doboj.
