The Court of BiH announced that the convicting part of the verdict was quashed after the Court had accepted a Defence’s appeal, adding that a retrial would be held before the Appellate Chamber.

According to the quashed verdict, Jukic, former member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, participated in the forced disappearance of five civilians, as well as abuse, robbing and forced relocation of the population from Prozor municipality.

The Appellate Chamber rejected a State Prosecution’s appeal, confirming the part of the verdict under which Jukic was acquitted of charges for having killed one and abused another person.

The custody measure against Jukic was extended due to a danger that he might flee.
