The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, accepts a State Prosecution’s appeal and orders nine persons, who are suspected of crimes in the Doboj and Teslic area, back into custody.

As announced by the Prosecution of BiH, the custody measure was ordered in order to ensure uninterrupted investigation in this case.

One-month custody has been ordered for Andrija Bjelosevic, Milan Savic, Dusan Kuzmanovic, Marinko Djuric, Miroslav Pijunovic, Dobrivoje Culibrk, Sasa Gavranovic and Zoran Sijuk.

They were arrested on September 1 and ordered into custody, but, after a month the State Court released them under prohibiting measures, including a ban on travelling and meeting the other suspects and witnesses. The Prosecution of BiH appealed this decision.

Besides these nine men, the State Prosecution suspects Predrag Markocevic, Dragan Marijanovic, Dario Slavuljica and Predrag Subotic of crimes against humanity in Teslic and Doboj in 1992, but they are defending themselves while at liberty.

The Prosecution of BiH announced that the investigation against these suspects referred to “very grave war crimes”, adding that “the case was referred to the Prosecution of BiH by The Hague Tribunal’s Prosecution for further processing.”
