Preliminary hearing judge Dusko Ninkovic said that the District Court had not received a confirmation that indictee Jazvic received an invitation to appear at this hearing and that an urging would be requested via the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, considering the fact that the indictee was outside Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The indictee received the indictment properly and expressed an advanced objection. Now, when an invitation for plea hearing is supposed to be submitted to him, it is not confirmed whether it was delivered to him or not,” Ninkovic said.

According to the charges, Jazvic, former member of military police with the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, unlawfully arrested Serb men, mainly the elderly and those not capable of serving the Army, in Mala Brusnica village, Bosanski Brod municipality, in late June 1992. After that he allegedly escorted the captives to “Tulek” detention camp in “Beograd” shopping mall warehouse in Bosanski Brod, where they were subjected to abuse.

A new plea hearing in indictee Jazvic’s case is scheduled for March 26, 2015.
