Prosecutor Seid Marusic said that Zekic left Bosnia, according to the State Investigation and Protection Agency’s document.

“I hear that for the first time. My findings are that he disappeared and that his family assumes that he did something to himself,” Nenad Rubez, Zekic’s attorney said.

He added that defendant told him someone was following him and that house of the Zekic family in Sekovici was searched.

Prosecutor Marusic said that the prosecution will try to make sure defendant is present at the next hearing.

Milos Zekic, former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, is charged with killing four people in the locker rooms of the stadium in Sekovici, where Bosniak civilians from villages Osmaci and Memici were imprisoned in the middle of May, 1992.

Indictment against Zekic was confirmed on August 27.
